COVIDSafe Plan

A description of Tempo Rubato’s COVIDSafe Plan is below. This plan is inclusive of the requirements prescribed by the DHHS and customised to our space with our current functioning. We will remain alert to any new information regarding effective ways to reduce risk, and we will update our plan accordingly.

We are currently working from the State Government Industry Restart Guidelines for Indoor Entertainment Venues. We are permitted to operate with 75% of our total seated space for all ticketed events. On opening, we will be operating at no more than 55% of our capacity, with chair placement and audience flow designed to increase social distancing as much as possible. We are also focusing on maximising ventilation and air turnover, and minimising uninterrupted time indoors. We will adjust our systems whenever new guidance is provided, to keep the space as low risk as possible.

Implementation

During every shift, a specific staff member is designated as being responsible for ensuring that the COVIDSafe plan is being properly implemented. COVIDSafeWatch. CSW.

Physical distancing

Customers:
Signage re 1.5m social distancing at entry.
No more than 10 people in the bar and nursery area (under density quotient)
Large front doors are always open to avoid crowding at entry/exit.
No more than 50 people in the outdoor courtyard area.
Monitored by the designated CSW person.
Seating in our performance space allows for close contacts to sit together and to be well distanced from others.
Staff guide movement of audience in and out of the performance to encourage social distancing.

Staff:
Admin work done from home whenever possible.
No carpooling to/from work.

Face covering

Customers:
Must wear a face mask when indoors, as per DHHS guidelines.
Monitored by the designated CSW person.

Staff:
Wear face masks at all times, as per DHHS guidelines.
A spare supply of face masks is kept on the premises.

Hygiene and cleaning

Hand sanitiser is available at entry and anyone who enters will be asked to sanitise prior to touching anything in the space.

Surfaces are cleaned regularly during opening hours with bleach as per the WHO guidelines - bar, cash register, bathroom, and any other surface that has been touched.

Soap is freely available at all sinks.

Glassware is handled only at its base by staff and they wash their hands with soap immediately after handling used glasses.

The glass washing machine is set at its highest temperature and detergent levels are checked at the beginning of each shift.

Contact tracing

We are using the Victorian State government QR contact tracing system. All customers who are inside or in our front courtyard area for longer than 15 minutes, are asked to register their details. The system records a name and phone number.

The data are housed in secure databases managed by Service Victoria, the Victorian Government’s online hub for transacting with government. Unless DHHS contact tracers request data for coronavirus (COVID-19) contact tracing purposes, it is automatically deleted after 28 days.

The system has a dedicated 24/7 hotline, and the option to check in with an app if for any reason someone is unable to scan the code.

Staff will register using the QR system at the start of each shift.

Tempo Rubato will close immediately if there is a positive case that has been in the space. We will notify WorkSafe Victoria (13 23 60) and DHHS immediately. We will work with DHHS as we are guided. We will not re-open until we are instructed that it is safe.

Staff illness

The designated CSW person checks the temperature of each staff member at the beginning of each shift and confirms that they have no symptoms. In the case of a temperature or symptoms, a staff member will be directed to be tested immediately and follow isolation guidance for themselves and all their contacts. We keep an electronic record of this process. Staff will be paid sick leave if they are unable to work due to being febrile, having symptoms and/or testing.

Enclosed spaces / ventilation

Our large front doors and windows are open at all times when more than one person is in our space to allow maximal natural ventilation.

Customers are encouraged to stay in our outside courtyard as much as possible.

Our bathrooms have mechanical ventilation. If these facilities are used, we ensure that there is a 15 minute break between uses.

Our performance space has a new ventilation system, designed to maximise fresh air deliver and removal of old air from the spaces where the audience sits. Sessions of music are no longer than 60 minutes and audience members are encouraged to go in to our outdoor courtyard during intermission.
