FILM: FAME
SATURDAY 25TH NOVEMBER 2023
TICKETS $22
SYNOPSIS
FAME, A street art festival took over the small Pugliese village of Grottaglie from 2008-2012. For five years internationally-renowned artists such as Blu, Conor Harrington, Erica il Cane and Vhils made the pilgrimage to this tiny southern Italian village to draw graffiti over its ancient walls. Angelo Milano was the man behind this revolution – creating a grass roots festival based upon his love of his town and disorder. Milano invited artists at his expense to stay in his home, his mum the chef and his dad the driver. Sadly the festival no longer exists but what remains is an amazing vault full of videos and memories and the faded graffiti of a legendary period.
The film was screened on France 2, Sky art Italy. It also won the prix qualitè du CNC and the etoile de la scam in France, Best Documentary Award at Muscat Film Festival in Oman, Public Award at Biogra Film Festival in Bologna and was selected by Mar del Plata Film Fest, Milano film Festival, schermo dell'arte Florence, festa do cinema italiano in Lisboa, Lichter film fest in Neisse, Germany, Echos d'ici echos d'ailleurs in France and more festivals around the world.

ABOUT ANGELO MILANO
Born in Grottaglie. After Semiotics studies in Bologna he decided to go back to Puglia where he built StudioCromie, a diy printing studio which later become an art gallery. He started FAME, a self-financed non authorized public art festival that became an international case. From 2012 he designs and produces his clothing brand SANGUE, distributed worldwide in a wide variety of high end stores that immediately got him bored of fashion. He continues to work as a galerist and collaborates with several international artists in the production of shows, installations and videos
