ABOUT BAILEY HUME

Bailey Hume is an Australian clarinettist and saxophonist. Trained in classical performance, his experience spans a diversity of genres including classical, jazz, contemporary, and commercial. Bailey has performed in orchestras, big bands, theatre pits, and as a studio musician. He has recorded music for museums, films, academia, and commercially across Australia and the United States. Bailey is a former member of the Australian Army Band and has received degrees from the University of Melbourne and the University of Georgia. He has appeared as a concerto soloist, winning the University of Georgia’s Concerto Competition in 2023 . He has also performed as a guest soloist with the ARCO Chamber Orchestra and the Geelong Salvation Army Band. Outside of performing, Bailey is an avid researcher and is currently completing his PhD at the University of Melbourne, studying Australianisms in contemporary Australian art music.
